Vietnam’s cassava exports increased by 10.6% month-on-month

International Business News  –  Vietnam’s “Industry and Trade News” reported on June 16 that according to statistics from the General Administration of Vietnam Customs, in May 2022, Vietnam exported nearly 260,000 tons of cassava and its products, with an amount of 114 million US dollars, an increase of 10.6% and 8.6% from the previous month. Year-on-year growth was 22.7% and 33% respectively. The current export price of such products is US$438.8 per ton, up 8.4% year-on-year.

In the first five months of 2022, Vietnam exported a total of 1.33 million tons of cassava and its products to China, worth US$578 million, up 2.2% and 18.1% year-on-year respectively. Cassava and its products exported to China have accounted for 93% of Vietnam’s total exports of such products. According to the Import and Export Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, due to the continuous impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on international commodity prices and the strong demand for feed and alcohol production raw materials in the Chinese market, it is expected that the export of cassava and its products will continue to grow in the coming period.
